Week By Week

17 Weeks Old

17 Whole weeks.

4 months old in 2 days time. Oh my.

It’s been quite a crazy week this week for Zachary. He has developed LOADS, and it literally seems like he has grown up overnight.

So last Friday we got out Zachary’s Jumperoo to see how he liked it ready for when he was big enough. He absolutely LOVES it! It’s so cute watching him jump away and reaching for the toys.

When we got it out last Friday we had to put a cushion underneath his feet so he could reach something to push off of, and today his feet touch the floor. I know you don’t notice how much your child has grown compared to those who don’t see him everyday, but how an EARTH has he grown so much in the space of a week? Its crazy!

He’s made the link of moving his legs and jumping up an down, he get’s so excited and it’s so lovely to see him growing and learning new things!

Zac also had his 16 week injections this week.

They. Were. AWFUL.

He had such a bad reaction to them this time, it really took it out of him and he’s still not 100% himself today. Poor little pea.

He’s has a temperature, been crying so much and incredibly fussy and clingy. I hope he never gets as unwell as that again, I don’t think I could handle it.

Hopefully it will only be a few more days and he will be completely back to himself.

Other than that this week has been pretty un-exciting. Mostly just trying to make my little man better and coping with 3 hours sleep a night on the bad nights.

I’ve been reading a lot about ‘Leap 4’ and apparently we’re smack bang in the middle of it. A lot of it makes sense as far as the clingyness and the sleep regression and becoming fussy around feeding times etc.. but a lot of it seems irrelevant and some quite unrealistic for a 17 week old. But I’m trying not to get too wrapped up in what these things tell you your baby should be doing, as Mat said, Zac going to go at his own pace and I just need to try not to worry. He’s happy and healthy and learning everyday.
